J&E Hall : ERP System

J&E Hall recognised that they had outgrown their existing technology platform and systems and identified that the implementation of a new ERP system was necessary. As selecting and implementing an ERP system is a major investment, we chose to engage impartial and independent Consultants to assist in the process.

AHC were appointed, to undertake the project through a number of process stages. Firstly, interviews with Management and key users were carried out to document the core business requirements. This resulted in the publication of a comprehensive ITT. AHC used the expertise and experience to research the systems best matched to our criteria and issued potential vendors with our requirements specification. They analysed the responses, both in respect of functionality through a scoring mechanism, cost, approach and methodology.

Following a review of the responses AHC (as independent ERP consultants) invited vendors to demonstrate their solution to a wide group of J&E Hall users. They assembled sample data for the vendors to use and issued guidance on the format of the sessions to ensure each vendor was given an equal opportunity in the sessions. They issued score sheets for users to complete and analysed the feedback. Subsequent sessions were organised with smaller user groups to expand on key functional areas

AHC produced an outline business case with an estimated return on investment summary. Using this information J&E Hall were able to select a preferred vendor with whom to proceed to contractual negotiation.

In summary, AHC provided the business with a strategic plan and a comprehensive approach to the selection process. The project was completed in the agreed timeframe and throughout the process the AHC team were fully engaged with us and committed to our ultimate objective. Their impartial and independent approach adds to the benefits of working with them. They had a good command over our project and were both personable and a pleasure to work with.
